Our approach to supporting a vibrant community means taking care of the welfare of our employees, their families and people living in the local community.
Since 2006 over a quarter of a million pounds has been spent in the local area on infrastructure projects such as the Station Road footpath and initiatives like ‘Shackles Off’ and the Young Fire Fighters Scheme; both of which provide a valuable service to the younger element in our community. We work with the Parish Council to identify suitable projects, and we also receive requests direct from groups and organisations seeking support. Our community support initiatives complement the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s Socio-Economic Policy.
Successful partnerships with our stakeholders involves more than just investing money, we also invest our time. Employees are actively encouraged to participate in community programmes and activities. Site visits are a regular feature of daily life and a strong emphasis is placed on education and interaction with young people in the community. We are continuing to build on our reputation as a world-class facility, working in partnership with our stakeholders for the benefit of everyone.
