The Repository is the UK’s only facility for disposal of LLW. Its consignors include the 19 NDA owned sites, Ministry of Defence (MOD), United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), Hospitals, Universities and other UK customers.

Waste Acceptance Procedure
LLW Repository Ltd's Waste Acceptance Procedure details how waste must be consigned under the Waste Services Contract.  The Waste Acceptance Procedure is the collective term used for the arrangements that Customers follow to consign waste to LLW Repository Ltd for treatment and / or disposal.  It forms part of the Waste Services Contract and it is a requirement for Customers to follow the Waste Acceptance Procedure when consigning waste to LLW Repository Ltd.

We aim to provide our Customers with easy access to our portfolio of waste and packaging services. Transition Plan
To support the transition from the current Low Level Waste Disposal Agreement to the new Waste Services Contract from the 1st April 2010, LLW Repository Ltd is implementing a Transition Plan for a smooth transition from the current arrangements to the new Waste Acceptance Criteria and Waste Acceptance Procedure. The Transition Plan is intended to provide a gradual move from the old processes to the new to reduce the impact on Customers.

LLW Repository Ltd held its annual Customer Forum on Thursday 20th May 2010, at the Rheged Centre at Penrith. The event provided an opportunity to review the developments in low level waste management that have taken place in the past 12 months.

Service Pricing
LLW Repository Ltd provides Customers with a range of Waste and Packaging Services through the Waste Services Contract.  This contract includes Service Pricing Mechanisms that are used to determine the price of the service for Customers. 
Packaging Services

Old Forms
LLW Repository Ltd's Conditions for Acceptance were replaced by the Waste Acceptance Procedure on 1st April 2010.  LLW Repository Ltd has agreed, in accordance with the arrangements set out in the Transition Plan, to accept these waste consignments using the D Forms that existed under the superseded Conditions for Acceptance until 30th September 2010, unless otherwise stated.
Strategic BPEO Assesments
To support the development and implementation of new treatment and disposal routes, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and LLW Repository Ltd have developed a series of strategic Best Practicable Environmental Option (BPEO)Assessments.  Each assessment considers the options for treatment and disposal of a specific type of waste in the context of a national approach and inventory.  We have published these documents here on our website to allow our Customers to use these documents as references or as the basis of their own individual BPEO Assessments.  If you need any additional information or support with the use of these BPEO Assessments then please get in touch using our dedicated customer e-mail address: customerteam@llwrsite.com

LLW Repository Ltd's Conditions for Acceptance were replaced by the Waste Acceptance Criteria on 1st April 2010.  For work that was in progress on 31st March 2010, LLW Repository Ltd has agreed, in accordance with the arrangements set out in the Transition Plan, to accept these wastes under the Conditions for Acceptance until 30th September 2010.

LLW Repository Ltd held its annual low level waste forum on Wednesday 22nd April 2009, at the Rheged Centre at Penrith. The event provided an an opportunity to review the developments in low level waste management that have taken place in the past 12 months and also to look further back as we marked the 50th anniversary of waste disposal at the Low Level Waste Repository Site, which commenced back in 1959!
